January 2015 Meeting Minutes


Meeting Minutes of the meeting of 6th of January 2015

The meeting was called to order by President Sarah Huechteman on time.

 34 members and 4 visitors were in attendance.

Committee Reports
Welcomed and performed introductions of guests.  Advised that last month’s minutes have been not posted on the blog yet, but will be after the meeting. Treasury report was given by Chris.

Stephanie took over the charity chair. Charity blocks were collected. Charity quilt kits were made and offered up for people to take home to complete.  Charity sew day is coming up.
 
Discussed the new bee blocks.  See Ellyn if you are interested in joining a bee.

Black and White fat quarters were collected. Three drawings occurred.  Paula, Alice, Lynn won. Each month we will have a theme for fat quarters.  Anyone who wants to participate brings a fat quarter for the lot and receives a ticket.  Drawings are held to win the lot of fat quarters.  Next month’s theme is Pink and Red.

No new name tags.
 
There is a vendor now for the Quiltcon tshirts.  Samples will arrive soon and be at the shop.  You can come see the sample and pick your size.  Price of tshirt will be from 20-25 dollars.  Three color print with 3 prints on each tshirt.


New Business

Lee Monroe of May Chappell will be speaking at our guild in March.  She will have a trunk show and discuss pattern designing.  There will also be a workshop with her on Feb 28th, a week before her presentation at our guild.  The workshop is organized through Stitched with Love.  Pattern for All Sewn Up.  Workshop is 10:30 to 4:30 and costs $50 and 14 people is the limit.  Guild members get priority seats.

Sherry is accepting dues tonight.  Cash or check accepted.  Dues are $50.

We will have a swap for February meeting.  Valentines Mug Rug swap.  Make and bring a valentine themed mug rug in a bag to swap.

MQG Spring Fabric Challenge “coming” in January.  They will send us a bundle of fabric and will be distributed.  Deadline is May.  More details coming soon.

Program occurred.  Each person brought their favorite notion and discussed the item.

Show and tell occurred.

Birthday certificated were handed out.

Door prize drawings occurred.

Next Meeting at 6:30 on February 3rd.

QuiltCon will be from Feb 18th to February 23rd.

Meeting was adjourned timely.

December Meeting Minutes


The meeting was called to order by President Sarah Huechteman on time.

 29 members and 1 visitor were in attendance.
 
Committee Reports
Welcomed and performed introductions of guests.  Advised that last month’s minutes have been posted on the blog. Treasury report was given by Sherrie. We now have 43 paying members in our guild. 

Charity blocks were collected. Charity quilt kits were made and offered up for people to take home to complete.  Charity sew day is the first Sunday of January.  Drawing occurred and LeeAnn won.

Social Sew Day is this upcoming Sunday at the shop from 1 pm to 6pm.  Bring anything you want to sew and hang out.

No new name tags.
 
Looking for entrants for Bee #3. Tonight is the last chance for Bee 3.  Revealed this month’s bee blocks.

TShirts for QuiltCon have not yet been handled. Watch for an email.  Attempting to get sample sizes from Tshirt Company.

Mini quilt challenge for quiltcon was revealed and voting occurred.   Stephanie won first and Lisa won second.

Ornament swap occurred.

Show and tell occurred.

Birthday certificates were handed out.

Door prize drawings occurred.

Meet and greet and snack happened for the remainder of the meeting.
