Quilty Love Swap: Bring One Valentine

Time for a fun, quick swap for our February meeting.

Your mission: Make a Valentine for another guild member! It can be all fabric or a combination of fabric and paper. During Guild, Becky Jackson showed us some fabric postcards using Pellon Pel-Tex. This is a fun technique and worth a try!

Here are some tutorials to get you thinking:

Size? No bigger than 5x6. Smaller is ok if it's super cute.
Bring one Valentine to guild and we'll swap!

The Side Stripe: Block Lotto for February 2019

We are beginning our new 2019 Block Lotto! This block lotto is based off the Block Studies by The Modern Quilt Guild. Each month the MQG publishes directions for a block and shows multiple layouts for the block depending on color choices and block layouts.

For the lotto, members and guests are encouraged to make the block and bring it back the next month to the guild meeting. All blocks are put into a lotto for one or two winners depending on the number of blocks entered. You're welcome to make multiples of the block. Each block is an entry to the lotto, giving you more chances to win!

The block introduced in January is called the Side Stripe Block.   Below is an image demonstrating the fabric choices and coloring for this lotto. You may use any colors.  Full directions for the block can be found on the Modern Quilt Guild website or members can check the guild's Facebook group.
