QuiltCon 2022 Community Outreach

Last month we announced a design contest for the McKinney Modern Quilt Guild's contribution for QuiltCon 2022.  Tuesday, August 3 (same day as our August meeting) is the deadline to turn in your submission. As a reminder, here is a brief summary of the guidelines:

* Use at least two, or up to all six, of the colors in the palette to create your quilt.

* Feature those angles! Make sure the theme is the focus of your piecing

* Quilts must be twin size, which is approximately 65” x 85”

Your plan should have fabric requirements as well as a cutting and piecing plan.    Designs can be submitted until our August meeting.

FYI:  The color palette in Bella Solids is as follows:

* White

* Boysenberry (9900-217)

* Geranium (9900-258)

* Amelia Orange (9900-161)

* Yellow (9900-24)

* Fig Tree Olive (9900-69)

Show and Tell

We want to see your recent finishes as well as any quilts within our theme.

To participate please email photos of your projects and a short description to mckinneymqg@gmail.com as soon as possible.  Be sure to let us know if your show and tell is a surprise for someone so we don't post it on social media!

We encourage you to join the guild! If you're in the McKinney/Plano/Allen area, please feel free to join the swap. If you live further out, we can check to see if there's a fairy who is heading your direction.

What if I sign up and don't finish my basket?
Please let us know asap! You'll get an email on Friday, April 2 reminding you to put out your basket. If you cannot put it out, please reply and let us know.
