May Meeting Minutes


The meeting was called to order by President Sarah Huechteman on time.
 
19 Members  and 3 guests were in attendance.

Committee Reports were called.  
  Last month’s minutes were posted on the blog.  
  Plans to work and update blog and Facebook page this month.  
  Sherry M.  Delivered the Treasurer’s Report.  
  Bonnie B and Chris volunteered to work on Community Service.  Bonnie 
  presented for community service.  Advised that we are going to make blocks, any
  pattern and any color, ONLY quilt shop quality fabric.  Finished sized should be an
  even number (4 in, 6 in, 8 in, 10 in, etc.)  Then they will be put together as
  improve quilts.  Each month if you bring in FIVE blocks and there will be a raffle.
  1 entry for every 5 blocks.  Plans to have “sew” days in the shop to put all the
  quilts together.  Quilts will be for men, women, and children.

Program: Jessie presented and demonstrated Batting Tape.

Ellyn headed up the pin cushion swap.  

Ellyn reminded everyone about their Michael Miller challenge.   National deadline has been extended to July and the local guild deadline is the June Meeting.

Next month will be One Yard Rip-off.  Everyone who is participating purchases 1 yard of the Pantone Color of the Year, “Radiant Orchid.”  Color sample was distributed.  Quilt shop quality fabric only.  Bring the yard to June’s Meeting to play a game with the yardage.

Birthday certificates were handed out to Janet and Lisa.

Show and Tell occurred.

Door Prize Raffle Occurred.
Next meeting will be on June 3rd.

Meeting was adjourned timely.
