Programs

 November Meeting:

Sharon Holliday will present Liven Up Your Quilt Backs!
Want something more interesting for your quilt back than just one solid piece of fabric?  Sharon will share quilts that include pieced backings, backs made from leftover blocks, backs with panels and tips and tricks for cutting and piecing these backings.   If you have a quilt with a pieced or unique back, please bring it to show and tell!

Membership

We will start taking membership renewals for the 2027 year at the December meeting, if you want to bring cash or check.

Did you know? We can use our Membership Receipts to get 10% off at McKinney Knittery. If you have thrown away your receipt, you may be able to take a photo of it in the receipt book maintained by the Membership Committee.

Community Service

Our final collection for the 2026 calendar year will be at the November meeting.  Please bring back anything you have finished, or partially finished.  If you took a kit and haven't started, that's no problem, just bring it back to the meeting.   We are also missing several of the Three Yard Quilt books still this year, so please check in your sewing room, it will have a note on the front cover that it belongs to the MCKMQG.  We will be making our final delivery to Casa for this year at the end of November.

Does your employer track charitable time? Our organization is a 501c3, which means time spent on guild work may be eligible for being tracked by employers who encourage tracking of charitable time. Our quilts are also donated to a charity (CASA of Collin County in McKinney), so any time worked on Community Service quilts should be eligible as well.

Events

We will be swapping the Scrap Jar for another fun month.

Thinking ahead to the December meeting, we will be doing our ornament exchange!
Make an ornament for the exchange; it does not have to be quilting related but does need to be handmade.
