Our November meeting is only a week away! Do you have some projects ready for show and tell?
Last month we had quite a bit of information shared. Jessie shared her experience at Sewing Summit! Someday I would love to have the opportunity to participate in a modern sewing conference, especially after seeing all of the fun Jessie had while she was there!
We also introduced our next challenge. Bettepat organized a Pantone Color of the Year Challenge! She had emerald colored squares for participants to take and instructions on how to make a wonky log cabin block. This challenge is open for any member to participate. So if you grabbed some emerald squares make sure you bring some completed wonky blocks back with you to the November meeting!!
The One Yard Rip Off has been a huge success! We decided to continue the OYRO again at the November meeting. If you want to participate, bring a yard of Christmas fabric to rip! And if you participated in last month's OYRO, don't forget to bring back your finished project from the solids you collected!
Our presentation at the November meeting will be on last minute Christmas gift ideas. But this is a group presentation!!! So make sure you bring some ideas with you! The more ideas we bring the better the presentation will be!!
Bettepat has scheduled a special Show and Tell this month! Everyone needs to bring their best or first quilt for show and tell. If it's not in your possession you can always bring a picture! So hopefully we will see some beautiful quilts at this month's meeting! I know I am quilting away trying to finish a work in progress. And of course, bring all of your non-quilt finishes this month as well.
So just to recap, as you are getting ready for next weeks meeting, make sure you gather these things to bring:
1. Alberta's Hope Blocks - Community Service Project
2. Show and Tell - Bring your first quilt or your best quilt for show and tell.
3. 1 yard of Christmas fabric for the One Yard Rip Off this month.
4. A completed project from last month's One Yard Rip Off. (Made from solids.)
5. Ideas and examples for Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas.
6. Pantone Color of the Year Challenge (Log Cabin Blocks)
We can't wait to see you all next week at the meeting.
