June Meeting:
Ice Dyeing with Dusty Allendorf
Dusty will be going over her techniques for ice dyeing fabric and discussing the ways you can create your own custom fabric.
There is still time to sign up for the dyeing workshop on June 6, 2026 at Sewcial Creatives.
Send an email our treasurer Chris Davies at chrisbakerdavies@yahoo.com to reserve a spot.
Signups for the workshop will close on May 25, 2026 to give Dusty time to make the kits for the class.
Membership
Did you know? We can use our Membership Receipts to get
10% off at McKinney Knittery. If you have thrown away your receipt, you
may be able to take a photo of it in the receipt book maintained by the
Membership Committee.
Community Service
We donated 28 completed quilts to CASA of
Collin County in May from the guild. They were very excited to receive
the quilts. Our next target drop off will be in August to get them
more quilts for the start of the school year. Stop by the community
service table to pick up a kit or a top to quilt or binding work!
Does your employer track charitable time? Our
organization is a 501-3c, which means time spent on guild work may be
eligible for being tracked by employers who encourage tracking of
charitable time. Our quilts are also donated to a charity (CASA of
Collin County in McKinney), so any time worked on Community Service
quilts should be eligible as well.
Events
The June meeting will have another round of Scrap Jar fun, and looking
forward to having a Low Volume One Yard Ripoff at the July Meeting -
don't forget to get your low volume yardage before the July potluck
meeting.
