August Meeting Minutes


The meeting was called to order on time by President Lori H. All members were welcomed and new members were introduced.
Committee reports were called: The monthly treasurer’s report was given.
New business was called: Julie L. discussed Alberta’s Hope Charity and the goal of making 10 quilts for Texas Oncology. Members are asked to make 10.5” cross blocks. Do not use the colors pink or aqua. Volunteers are needed to donate batting, machine quilting, and to do binding. Stitched with Love is generously donating the backing fabric. Bettepat discussed the Low Volume Challenge and invited members to turn in fabric or “buy in” to the swap. Bettepat presented the swaps and challenges for the next 12 months. An update on registration with the Modern Quilt Guild was discussed. Next month’s program will be Stash Organization. Members were asked to bring pictures, questions and ideas. This month’s program, Stash Building was presented. Joy introduced Clearly Perfect Angles as the tool of the month. Show and tell was presented. Door prizes including patterns from Creative Sewlutions were awarded. The next meeting is 3 September 2013 at 6:30pm. Questions and comments were invited from the membership. Julie asked about posting special events, deals and sales on the blog site.
No old business was discussed.

August Meeting

Don't forget about our August meeting tomorrow!  We will be swapping our low volume charms for those of you who signed up!  Our program for August is on "Building a Stash".  Feel free to come with ideas about how you build your own stash, and I will be sharing info as well.  Bettepat will also be discussing the swaps and challenges that she has planned for the next 12 months!

The Meeting was called to Order on time by President, Lori H. All members were welcomed and new members were introduced.
Committee reports were called: Joy presented the minutes of the previous meeting.
New Business was called: Julie L. discussed a community service opportunity. The Fabric Basket Swap was held. Lori H. discussed the upcoming low value charm swap. The July program was on Blogging and its utilization. Name that Fabric and Designer Game was played. Joy H. demonstrated the tool/notion of the month. Show and Tell transpired. Door Prizes were conferred. The Next meeting date of August 6, 2013 was announced. And questions and comments from the membership were entertained.
No Old Business was announced.
